Rural Seniors Initiative 2021

The purpose of this project is to support seniors to stay in their own homes longer in Peace River Regional District Area D and E for a 12 week period starting on January 4, 2021 and ending on April 2, 2021 in the following service areas: Rolla-Doe River, Tate Creek-Tomslake, Farmington-Tower Lake, Deveraux-Upper Cutbank and Progress-Groundbirch-East Pine-Sunset Prairie.  The intention is to provide services to a total of 50 homes.

This program is intended to provide rural seniors with three service initiatives:

Five homemade healthy, freshly frozen meals to each participant weekly.

These meals will be available for pick up by those participating in the program every week at their local hall. At that time; a social function of some type will be available for those wanting to participate within COVID 19 restrictions. A cost of $3 per meal will be charged for each meal.

A bi-weekly housekeeping service for two hours each time.

Two pre-approved contractors will provide cleaning services as needed at each home. A fee of $25 per month will be charged for this service.

Snow removal will be provided by approved contractors to each home participating in the program.

This service will be provided on an as needed basis and a fee of $25 per month will be charged for this service.
